Right now, in my underwear drawers, I have 83 pairs of clean panties. That includes about a dozen or so pair that are uncomfortable or ugly and that I only wear as a last resort. If you figure in the ones in the hamper and in the load of laundry I'm in the middle of, I have enough underwear to avoid laundry for more than three months without going panty-free.

I do not need anymore underwear.

But I keep buying it. I'm enthralled with underwear, particularly cute underwear: anything boycut or with cute little designs drives me wild. Sexy underwear I can live without (unless it's leopard print; then I buy as many as they have).

Several months ago, I put myself under a panty moratorium. A few days later, my friend Sue turned me on to the adorable scratch & sniff underwear at Wal-Mart, but aside from that little backslide, I have meticulously avoided underwear aisles since before Thanksgiving.

Until last Sunday. That's when Grace & I went to dim sum & she told me about these irresistible days of the week underwear she found at Target. In women's sizes? Yup.

Of course, we headed straight from dim sum to Target, where the option was an incomplete set marked down to $3.49. Fine, I bought them just in case--better Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday & Monday than nothing right? But then we went to the Target in the burbs & found a complete set. Hooray! I'm wearing them as soon as my period's over.
