Souped-up Salsa!

I can never find a prepared salsa I like, but I'm usually too busy (read: lazy) to make fresh salsa, even though my salsa is deluxe. So this is a decent compromise, and way better than dumping a mediocre can in a bowl.

If you wanna be fancy, serve your salsa in an unusual container, such as a halved bell pepper, hollowed-out squash or tomato, or a goofy looking dish.

1/2 a jar of salsa
garlic
jalapeño, fresh or pickled
1 tomato
1/2 small onion
cilantro
lime
tortilla chips

  1. Chop tomatoes and onion.
  2. Mince jalapeño* and garlic.
  3. Chop cilantro.
  4. Combine with a generous squeeze of lime.
  5. Serve with tortilla chips.

* (optional) Scorch fresh jalapeño over a gas flame for a nice roasted flavor.
